This is indeed the second post of the day and it seems like I am in a roll today, but I simply had to tell you about this and I didn't know how to fit it in the other post. So. Long story short I know a girl named Chelsea Pierce (we just so happened to be classmates while at Lee University) but we were never really close. Anyway her Facebook posts often pop on my news feed and I love to see her heart and passion for orphans and adoptions. Chelsea has a blog called "You will Go Out with Joy" in which she posts news about orphans and their need to be adopted and loved. As Christians we all know that we are called to love just like Jesus loved us and lately I have also been reminded that we are no orphans in the eyes of the Lord for he has chosen as to be his children. He has said:
Psalm 27:10 (NIV)
Though my father and mother forsake me, the lord will receive me.
Psalm 68:5 (NIV)
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Isaiah 1:17 (NIV)
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
John 14:18 (NIV)
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
While on Chelsea's blog last night I came across a Christian couple that have adopted 2 Children from a Russian Orphanage and as I was go through their blog my eyes started to water and my skin turned cold. The picture you see above is Amy and Andrew. The owners of the blog TinyGreenElephants.com . My heart shook in chest as I was reminded the greatness of this action. I have always believed that it is the greatest thing a person can do to adopt a child and give it a better life.
The reason behind all this Is the fact that this past Sunday it was father's day. I never had a dad. I met mine but he was never around. He was never a father. I hardly saw life from him as he never stood by my mom nor provided food for me and my sisters. It was hard but I always knew It was not my fault he left. Nor my moms for that matter. I always knew that the Lord was my heavenly father and He has chosen me for a greater life. But what touched my heart even more is that, this Sunday I sat next to my father in Law at Church. This man has loved me and took care of me more than any other father-in-law has ever probably loved a daughter. He has taken the place of my real father and I feel so blessed. I believe that the story of Amy and Andrew and the heart they have for children and the Lord has touched my heart so much because of this. I know that the Lord will provide for them and their family. In the mid-time make your way to their blog and bless them somehow. Pray for children that have not been fortunate enough to have the love of a mother and a father as we did. I was blessed with an amazing mother that went beyond the call of duty and gave me everything in her power. Now I am blessed with an amazing -in law family and I know the Lord has my back!
